This is a park built in the 57th year of the Showa Era (1982) to commemorate the friendship alliance between Shizuoka Prefecture and Zhejiang, in China.
Willow trees have been planted near Lake Hamana, similarly to the natural beauty of
the West Lake in Zhejiang Province.
From this, it got its Japanese name of Yanagi Park (Willow-tree Park).
There are monuments raised in locations visible from the cycling road and there are also places to take a rest.
In addition, from this park you can see the “Miwotsukushi” indicator, built as a signpost for the role of a lighthouse to indicate shallows of the rivers of the past.
